Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters.

This summer there were a great number of hurricanes throughout the
Hurricane Gustav caused $20 billion in damage and caused great flooding damage in
Hurricane Ike, the ninth hurricane of the summer, also hit the
LCIF has responded to a number of recent natural disasters around the world. Since July 1, LCIF has issued $464,000 in Emergency grants. LCIF continues to be in touch with Lions in the affected areas to assess the situation and respond as needed.
